Engagement Shoots Pro’s and Con’s.
Talking to potential brides & grooms at wedding fairs always opens up a discussion about Engagement Shoots. Some people have never considered the idea, some cannot wait to get stuck in and some HATE the thought of it! A lot of us just don’t feel comfortable infant of the camera, myself included. Shock horror, but don’t be surprised, most photographers are more comfortable on the other side of the lens.
So I can totally understand the hesitation some people have regarding them, a lot of people dread the idea of the photographs on the big day never mind signing up for an additional shoot beforehand. But let me tell you why you should.
It is the perfect opportunity for both bride & groom and photographer to have a proper introduction, a 5 minute conversation at a wedding fair is one thing, but an hour in each others company working together to get a set of images that you love is another. You will get a feel for your photographer and he or she will also get a feel for you. It is a valuable exercise for both parties so that you can know each others limits, you don’t want your photographer on your big day asking you to do things you don’t quite feel comfortable with. Hence the beauty of the infamous engagement shoot, all these minor concerns can be distant memory and you can simply … breath again.
You’ll realise any concerns you had were unfounded, the camera has not stole your soul and you have lived to tell the tale. For the 2018 wedding season I will be offering Engagement Shoot’s with all bookings and I would encourage all to take advantage. You simply will not regret it.

I am a Wedding and Portrait Photographer based in the sleepy village of Donaghcloney, Co.Armagh.
I studied Photography at college in Belfast. My early days were spent in a darkrooms processing 35mm film and printing Black & White photographs. Those days are long gone now & have since been replaced with Apple Mac’s & Photoshop, but my passion for creating a lasting image from scratch still excites me.
I specialise in both Wedding Photography & Studio Portraiture & have a studio at home ( Casa Flash Art ) for all year round weather proof photography , I love the quality that studio light creates giving you that flawless look. Beyond the studio I adore shooting weddings, meeting excited families and sharing in their big days, Producing images to cherish for years to come.
I am fortunate to combine my passion for photography along with my passion for music, I own and run Rock ‘N’ Load. A well established online music magazine doing reviews, interviews & capturing the bands in the raw. I guess it fullfills a childhood ambition after staring at so many live album covers over the years & all those iconic images on the sleeves.
Beyond photography, I live with my partner Pauline in the sleepy rural townland of Donaghcloney Co.Armagh with my two dogs Izzi & Kobi,Two Cats Stevie & Ray & a fish I inherited from my dad Mr Fishy.
For all of the above I am eternally grateful,
Peace, Love & Good Happiness Stuff.
